Driftwood is not just wood;
It is: rocks; pebbles;
Interesting shells with intriguing holes in the middle;
It is seaweed; cold plastic bags;
And footprints left by a breed
of invisible dog.

Puppy Poem I

While Puplet's Pontifications are all prose
In which the bustle of workaday life -
Cameras, kittens, and everything frenetic -
Find a place, here

is a more rarified stillness, here
Moments hang in mid-air, turn on a point; here
Paws stretch, jaws yawn, eyes close
glimpsing universes, in the darkness, dimly.
